Relax and StretchPart of being a good kaitiaki (guardian) is helping others. You are going to work in a trio to create a Scratch programme to teach others a relaxation or yoga technique. Work in your trio on this sample project from Raspberry Pi to see what you will need to be able to do in your programme. Once you have mastered the sample project, choose a video below which you can use to create your own Scratch programme to share with others to help them learn to look after themselves by relaxing, stretching and breathing.

Matariki Manu Taratahi
Today’s challenge was to work as part of a group to design and construct a Matariki kite.
We began making mini models using things we found in the classroom.
Then we put our heads together to make a larger manu taratahi. There was lots of discussion about how to join the sticks to create a strong frame for the kite. Each group has created very different kites.
One of our Home Learning writing tasks was Animalobscura - we had to create a creature made up of parts of other creatures, draw it and then write a description of the new creature for others to follow and draw. Alycia shared her Animalobscura description with us first. Here is what we drew. Here is what Alycia's original creature looked like. Next up was Zoe. Here is her description. Here are our drawings of it. Here is Zoe's original. Mahtaab shared his animal obscura description next . . . here are our interpretations. Here is Mahtaab's original animal. Briar wrote her description with no comparisons to any other animal which made it more challenging for us - we had to listen well and think hard about what she was telling us in her description. When we saw Briar's drawing we all had a few 'oh' moments when we saw what she was describing. It was a good lesson in how two people's brains can interpret something in different ways. Next up was Cassie. Here description was really good . . . look at her picture and you'll see how close we all were to getting it right!
